Hi! My name is Mary Smith so my friends call me Molly. Please, call me Molly. I have lived in Boston since I was born. I’m eighteen years old and an university student. I’m studying Japanese, but I’m also interested in Japanese history and culture. I am going to study about them. If I learn to speak Japanese well, I want to go to Japan and study there for a year. So, I’m working hard as a waitress in a restaurant, which is near to my university, to save money for studying abroad. But I don’t always do part-time job. To tell the truth, I spend my time freely. For example, I spend a lot of time on my hobby or seeing my friends.

My hobbies are reading, listening to music and playing basketball. I like to spend my time listening to music. I often listen to classical music in particular. My favorite composer is Chopin so I often read books about him. I like “Valse”　which was composed by Chopin. “Valse” is called “KOINUNOWALTZ” in Japanese. I also sometimes play the piano in my house. I learned how to play the piano for seven years. I often play basketball with my friends after school. Basketball is my favorite sport. I was on the basketball team when I was a high school student. I still play basketball with my old teammates once in a while.

I have a happy family. There are six people in my family. I have a father, a mother, one younger brother, one grandfather and one grandmother. My parent’s names are Roy and Catherine who are forty-two years old. They met when they were university students. They have been married for nineteen years. My father is an office worker now in Boston. My mother is an editor now. I have a dream of becoming an editor like her because I look up to her. My younger brother’s name is Mark. He is sixteen years old and he is a high school student. He likes to play baseball. He is on the baseball team. My grand parent’s names are Tom and Rebecca. I like them very much, as they are kind. I think that my family is really happy.

I like Boston which is the capital city of Massachusetts. There were 589,141 people in Boston in 2000. The city has a continental climate. There are some universities which are known all over the world. And, it is famous for Boston Red Sox which is baseball team. I often go to watch baseball games with my brother. And, there is Boston Celtics which is a basketball team. The team colors are green and white. The team logo is very cool. I really like the team very much.
